Held during the President’s State Visit to Japan and coinciding with the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Japan diplomatic relations, the engagements culminated in the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reflecting the growing strategic importance of cooperation between the two nations.
President Marcos highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration in maritime security, defense, economic resilience, and emerging technologies while reaffirming the Philippines’ and Japan’s shared commitment to international law and a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific.
